Livestock and Guard Dogs
Just a list of research on livestock and guard dogs for our farm.
Good options in Florida include:
- Great Pyrenees - livestock guard dog, most popular in the U.S., gentle with people, kids, other dogs, etc..
- Pyrenean Mastiff - closely related to the Great Pyrenees
- Anatolian Shepherd Dog - shepherding dog (obviously) - a little more scared of strangers, socialize more difficult
- Akbash - ( used by Grass-Fed Homestead )
