Horticulture at the Old Bellamy Farm

We are launching a bio-intensive, no till market vegetable business on Old Bellamy Farm.  Much of the planned equipment reflects this.

Through the use of high tunnels and greenhouses, we hope to bring more southern crops to market in our area, and extend the season for other crops.

Plants and crop planning for the new farm:

We wish to utilize technology to assist us with watering only when needed, misting when really hot, etc..

Random Horticulture Notes

Two good regional cover crops (sometimes provided by the ag extension office) are iron clay cow pea and sun hemp seed.  Also, there is sorghum.  This helps with weeding and lessening the nematode pressure.
